About the Florio Family
Run by Mike, Basia and their two boys, the Florio Family Sugarbush is a 400-tap maple syrup operation located in the former Beverly Township near Lynden, Ontario. Looking for more reasons to spend time outside in the late Winter and early Spring, we started producing maple syrup, beginning with 30 taps. Every year we enjoy getting out into the forest, tapping the trees, and boiling sap in the Sugarshack with friends and family.
We take great pride in our small-batch, 100% pure Ontario, wood-fired, Grade A maple syrup. We work hard to produce the highest quality product while practising sustainable forest management. All of our syrup is collected, wood-fired and bottled on our land, and there are no added ingredients or preservatives in our product.
Basia and the boys are proud citizens of the Metis Nation of Ontario and love the opportunity they have to honour their cultural traditions. Maple syrup has been long revered in First Nations and Metis communities for its nutritional and medical properties, as well as a means to celebrate the changing of seasons with family and community.
