Summary
Willibald Farm is a thriving farm distillery, brewery, and restaurant located in Waterloo Region, just outside of the small village of Ayr. Our on-site restaurant focuses on true farm-to-table dining. We use a mix of traditional and modern techniques with a strong focus on local ingredients, our on farm beef cattle, and a menu diverse to compliment our wide variety of premium spirits, beer, and
cocktails made on-site.

Requirements & Skills

Willibald Farm is a growing farm distillery, brewery and restaurant located in Waterloo Region, just outside of the small village of Ayr. Willibald has a strong focus on high quality, premium beer and spirits that are made 100% on our farm. Our on-site restaurant focuses on emphasizing what’s fresh and grown locally and influenced heavily by our pizza oven, and on-site beef cattle.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate hospitality manager who will lead our restaurant operations.

Duties & Requirements

  • Oversee daily operations of all hospitality related operations, including working directly with our executive chef,
  • Manage and train a team of servers, hosts, and bartenders to ensure top-notch service and hospitality.
  • Address and resolve guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the guest experience and improve customer satisfaction scores.
  • Monitor and manage restaurant budgets, including cost control, revenue generation, and inventory management.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health regulations.
  • Enforce restaurant policies and procedures, including those related to safety and hygiene.
  • Analyze guest feedback and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovative practices.
  • Coordinate with marketing and events teams to plan and execute promotional activities and special events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field is not required, but is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in restaurant management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for delivering a memorable customer experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Entry-Level Sales Role

Type of Position: Part-Time (Full-Time Hours Possible)

Start-Date: September 3, 2024

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented sales representative to join our farm retail team, specializing in alcohol sales. This role involves introducing and educating customers on the Willibald brand and product lines as well as providing exceptional customer service ensuring compliance with all alcohol-related sales regulations in Ontario. The ideal candidate will be someone who flourishes in a team environment, possesses excellent communication skills, has a strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering an outstanding retail experience for their customers.

Job Description:

The retail sales role with be a part-time position and will be responsible for:

  • Report directly to the Retail Manager
  • Educating and introducing customers to the Willibald Brand and product lines
  • Greeting customers warmly and assisting them in selecting Willibald beverages according to their preferences and needs
  • Providing enhanced product knowledge and product recommendations, including food and drink pairings
  • Operating the cash register and processing transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Follow relevant Alcohol regulations in Ontario, including age verification, etc. 
  • Monitoring inventory levels and assisting with restocking as required
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the retail locations, including regular cleaning of displays and storage areas
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborating with team members to achieve sales goals, find procedural improvements and efficiencies and provide excellent customer service that is always improving
  • Staying informed about current releases, special offers and new products to effectively promote sales in-line with company objectives
  • Handling customer inquiries, complaints and returns professionally and promptly, seeking assistance from management when necessary.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Based in Waterloo Region or surrounding areas
  • Previous retail experience preferred, particularly in alcohol sales or a similar field
  • Knowledge of different types of alcoholic beverages, including beer, ready-to-drink cocktails and spirits is advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy in cash handling and inventory management is a must
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and SMART Serve certified.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy boxes and cases of product
  • Willingness to commute to Ayr and other Willibald outlets (St Jacobs, Kitchener, Cambridge) for shifts.
